OK... a few more hints.
For #1... Keep in mind that H-D had their own foundry and did castings for their engine blocks and cylinder heads... As they also made 90,000 engines for the military bikes, it stands to reason that the Foundry was a rather large part of the company...
For #2... They didn't just make motorcycles. They made something utilized by the food industry. In fact, they were one of the earliest producers of this, and advanced the design considerably!
