First e-reader I got was my Sony PRS-300. Lasted for a long time and I am quite happy with it. Wanted a little bigger one with touch screen and wifi and jumped on an Odyssey. That was a step backwards. Screen is darker than my 300, capacitive touch screen is a hit or miss (more often miss), the browser sucks ( having no browser is better than Odysseys), dictionary support is broken, even after updates. Going from 200 dpi on prs300 to 167 on Odyssey made text clarity worse.

Finally my 300 was upset for beeing put in storage, so it broke the Odyssey beyond repair (the usb port broke off). Not willing to sink any more money into it I declared the Odyssey dead. Took my prs300 out of storage, and it works just fine. The only thing wrong with it is the writing on the next page button and bookmark button are gone from using them too much.

Went to Walmart today and looked at a Nook ST. Ohhhh, must have, that is the best screen I ever seen on the display model. Had one in my cart, until I decided to have them open the package and let me look at the screen. Bahh, what a shame. Each and every one I looked at ( about 10) had this nice grey background compared to the almost perfectly white of the display model. Even put side by side in the display case with same lighting. So I put it back.

That cured me of wanting to replace my prs300. Only when it dies will I now check out a new reader.
