Once you get your PC's OS able to recognize the device properly, (usually a matter of
a USB or device driver) ADE should be able to deal with your device. You should also
be able to use the OS file handling features to move files to and from the device. If the
device has Adobe Reader Mobile 9.1.1 or later as its reading software you would then
be able to open and unlock the infected B&N epub files. ADE would not be needed or a
part of the process. [If your device has an internet function, you would want a later
version of Adobe Reader Mobile, as the v9.1.1 had a security issue. But for most people
you will have little choice in the matter.]

The OS sees PRS-T1, Sony Reader app sees it, but ADE does not. That is the problem.

I have no idea what version(s) of RMSDK Sony is using, but the point is it does not enable unlocking of B&N files (this is something the vendor needs to implement, and either Sony has never bothered to update RMSDK, or if they have, Sony has not implemented this feature). In theory ADE might be able to supply an unlock token so that RMSDK on the device would agree to open the book. But at this point it still seems not possible.
