I haven't read The Knight (yet - I do have the Wizard Knight omnibus on my Kindle), but I can almost guarantee that it is not what you are expecting. I'm expecting it to be excellent, but if it bears any relation to normal heroic fantasy at all, it will be, at best, tangential.

The Name of the Wind is pretty good once it gets going. I'm not familiar with The Rook.

Legend is also highly enjoyable.
