I am getting swamped with PMs from people who now have the "Your kindle needs repair" screen after installing a screen rotation hack on their 5.1.0 kindle touch. I do not have time to answer these pleas for individual help. The "Amazon Kindle" forum (parent of Dev Corner forum) is getting these posts too.

The new 5.1.0 firmware has *some* screen rotation support, which seems to be getting damaged by the "rotate hacks" for previous firmware versions.

To repair your kindle, the damage from the rotate hack needs to be repaired, and the boot counter needs to be reset or mmblk0p3 zeroed out (see my debricking threads for details).

If you are not willing or able to spend the time and effort to learn how to repair your kindle, then go buy a new one and donate the "broken" kindle to somebody who IS willing to invest the required time and effort to its repair.
