Altering and censoring what you believe, hypothetically, "can be construed" by someone for whom it "doesn't take much" to "feel insulted", on the off-chance that that someone - someone who is thus so quick, without further investigation of content - might might end up "seeing it and just leaving", is
not offensive to the person who wrote the innocent subject innocently in the first place, not to mention insulting and offensive to all the people who have found no harm in it and posted within the thread themselves without feeling offended by it? The use of the word "Gods" is potentially offensive?! To whom? Atheists? Monotheists? As with the karma-thread, do you feel comfortable broadly insulting
real people?

It definitely seems so. If "offense" is the motive, than you are hoisted with your own personal petard.
