We have the same setup as Los Angeles - a big valley with no breezes. Not even a tiny puff. It only takes a few days in summer without rain to be able to see the air, even though there is not any oxygen left in it. Husband let me out at the door after lunch, and in the 15 steps it took to get inside, I was wheezing from lack of oxygen.

Nothing is ever normal in B'ham.
The air is not orange here, however, it is superheated, so it hurts to breathe. We've had close to a month of 100 degree heat, no rain. We missed out on having a Spring this year. It just seemed to pass from cold and brown to hot and brown.

I suppose I should just count my blessings ... the air may be stiffling, but at least it's colorless.
