Hello again, to update everyone, I've decided not to format the book for kindle. After several hours of researching, I decided it is not worth the time/effort for a couple of reasons;
1) the book is full of pictures (a children's/teenager's book) and Amazon hasn't spent the time/money/man hours on their system yet, for this type of book to read properly once it's uploaded to their system. (amazon's uploader 'parses' the file, changing the html code to an old html code, from 1997, and the book is then full of errors) elements such as pictures (also text) moving around the pages and onto separate pages, making it unreadable/not fit for selling. You can work with the 'parsed' code - 'after' the entire book is uploaded to Amazon, to fix the errors, but it would be very time consuming....
2) Also, a person can only format for one device, from what I understand, the book, would then be for sale on Amazon, but the purchaser/buyer of the book would not know which device this particular book is formatted for. So, if I were to format it for Kindle fire, it would read correctly on a kindle fire, but if the buyer were to try to read it on another device, e.g. ipad, the book would not read properly.
C'est la vie, maybe things will improve for children's books for kindle in the future : )
