There's a short "Select Bibliography" of sources consulted in the back which are the sort of typical general field history/personal biography kind of thing that people would pull of the library shelves for a general research project.

I've skimmed a few of these, and for the subjects I had any acquaintance with, the basic facts seemed to be in place and reasonably accurate for the "light overview" style they seemed to be going for.

Frankly, you'd probably get more in-depth (and better cited) write-ups going direct to Wikipedia, but for a portable light introduction to the known life facts and important professional accomplishments of the subjects, these seem pretty decent and have some nice pictures included as well.
