Hello, world!

I'm Ben W., BlueCatShip. I'm vision-impaired / legally blind.

But oddly enough, I'm also a web designer and my background is from design and what used to be "desktop publishing." So I've been a pro proofreader, writer/editor, typesetter, sometime graphic designer, and I even played with Fontographer back in the day.

I taught myself HTML and CSS and have done some web design on a volunteer basis, including a large-ish project for over two years.

Now, I'm trying to build on that by expanding my skills, including to learn ebook formats and PHP. I'm a newbie at both of those. I started professionally when using a Mac or PC to do any design for print was practically heresy. Now, the market is completely changing again with ebooks and web media. Well, I started once, here goes twice.

I am a former primary caregiver and just now starting to get back into the work world.

I love reading and watching science fiction, among other things.
