I got mine in September 2010. There really wasn't any competition worth looking at for a similar price in the Australian market at the time.

I've read on it every day since I've bought it and it has ushered in a golden age of reading in my life. I was a reader before, but not as voracious as I am now.

I recently considered "upgrading" to the Touch, but have decided that unless something happens to my current reader I'll just wait to see what the next version brings.

Now, the Australian market has more competition with the Kobo Touch a more competitive offering at a great price and the new Sony being a bit better priced than previous models. I have all my books converted to epub on purchase to ensure that I'm free to choose my next reader, but I suspect that Amazon will get my next purchase.
