I left out some stuff when I posted the above. I bought it because my Kindle 2 joystick key split down the middle and I bought the Kindle 3 because I was afraid to try and glue it back together and have no reader if I failed at repairing it and instead made the situation worse. After getting the Kindle 3 and transferring my content I told a friend about my plans for the Kindle 2 and he said 'before you try and glue that key call Kindle support and see if they'll do something for you'. Well they certainly did (they replaced it no charge even though it was over a year old). I've used the Kindle 3 pretty much all day every day since I got it and do not consider the next generation of Kindles to be any kind of worthwhile upgrade. I passed the replacement Kindle 2 on to my wife and it's still working flawlessly as well.
