It can really be a problem with the screen itself (although not a broken screen) and in this case I'm afraid you can't do anything but to send it to Paris.
Just to be sure it's not a dying battery: what happens when you plug in the cable? Does the screen show the usual sign of loading with the two cables or nothing?
And do you remember having done something specific before all this happened?
