Don't know but your workaround wouldn't work for most people because then the program would only put 1 book on the reader & delete everything else. For me, that defeats the purpose of having a reader. I like to be able to carry several books in one little device. If I'm only carrying one at a time I might as well stick to paper books.
For me & others, there is no workaround when dealing with the Reader for PC. I don't use it to put books on my T1. I drag & drop or use Calibre. I've never been quick enough to stop the sync when it starts & it messes up the books on my device so I just don't use it.
Synchronize means having the same things on both the program & the device. I don't like that. I don't want every book I own on the device. Syncing also means you can't manually control anything on the device. You can't move books around or delete them or whatever. Again, I don't like that. I loved how the Reader Library was for the 300 & the 350 but alas, the new software doesn't do that.
