This is probably a non-starter for folks but I love my Oberon Covers. They are leather covers that are handmade by artisans in the Northern California area. They use custom built stamps, they do not hand tool, to make their covers and they have many, many designs.

They are expensive. For me it was worth the money because I like the feel of leather and the covers made me think of reading from a nice leather bound hard back. I also love how the covers look and how durable they are.

Granted, it was easier to justify the expense when I got my Oberon for my K1 ($350) and my DXG (about $400) then it was for my K3. I do carry my Kindles with me on vacation and all around the house. So having good protection is a must. These have worked well for me.

I have a sleeve for my K3. I will probably go back to a case if I get a new Kindle just because it feels more protected in a case then the sleeve but I will worry about that later.

So yes, they are expensive but they are gorgeous and effective.
