Did too, did too! Loved the book.

Dune. Don't even ever attempt another movie. Way too much inner dialog and cultural background to ever make it as a movie.

Oh, and The Matrix. Not that it was ever a book, but the characters were stolen from William Gibson, especially the badass girl with the sunglasses.

What Dreams May Come. The movie was great, very nice effects, but wow, they changed the entire story, the philosophy, the main characters... if I had never read the book, I might have liked the movie. As it was, my mental editor kept objecting.
