heh... actually, no grocery stores are open 24 hours in france, it's illegal. except maybe in the rest areas next to the highway, and even those i'm not sure.
but i was so surprised by this story, the other day i said to a friend, "so, imagine that Carrefour [big grocery chain] is open 24 hours a day. one day, it's 3 in the morning, you can't sleep, so you decide to do your shopping. do you get dressed first, or do you go in your pyjamas and slippers ?"
he stared at me like i was insane. (perhaps i should have explained the context *first*)
maybe it's an anglo-saxon thing.
i did learn though, thanks to this story, that he sleeps naked too ; so maybe *that* is a french thing. it would explain why we all get dressed before we go grocery shopping.
