Sounds like they need to run a bit more fact-checking. Or at least proof-reading to make sure they don't have the categories mixed up.
It's sad that this has no citations, because a) this guy is supposed to be a real-life teacher, which says unfortunate things about the state and expectations of education in the US and b) it's probably not meant as an ironic lesson in taking the bare word of self-proclaimed authorities.
But the entries I've read for the stuff that I do know about (dinosaurs and the missing feet, which CBC has had a series of articles and a special feature and a documentary upon) are solid.
But uncited. "Trust, but verify, and DIY on that latter" seems to be the default lack-of-bibliography style for popular-audience-oriented reference books these days.
