A driver in California has a brand new Chevy Volt. A driver in Boston has a new Ferrari. The California driver hops in his car and starts heading for the East Coast. For the purposes of this quiz we will assume that he is able to charge/fuel his car when the need arises. Let us also assume that the Volt driver travels at an average speed of 55mph. The Boston driver also has no problems fueling his vehicle, and travels at an average speed of 70mph. He is heading towards the West Coast. Lastly, let's assume that 3,000 miles separates the two drivers at the start of this race. Our question is -- which driver will be closest to the East Coast when the meet and why?

Well it has to be the Boston driver. Doesn't matter where they meet, he will still be closer until their paths cross.
