Yes, Zeep .... however, we yanks do not have a government sanctioned group trying to keep our language "pure" either .... tends to allow us to grab our slang from anywhere and everywhere.
One of my favorite bits of slang comes from a movie .... when expressing great dismay ... "Quel Frommage!!" ..... yes, I know what it really means, but in American slang now ... it means "what a shame" ..... funny, yes??
