I love Jane Eyre. It's one of my favourites, as well as Wuthering Heights. I actually slightly prefer Wuthering Heights now, though I used to prefer Jane Eyre. Either way, that Bronte clan knew how to write high gothic drama.
I didn't find Jane Eyre boring at all. When a book captivates me, it can just go on and on and I will eagerly follow. I loved the style, the atmosphere and the characters, so for me there were no "slow" periods.
I haven't read it in awhile but I did see the new film last year. It was a good adaptation but not the best.
