I've never seen the remake to compare, but I will offer two counters to your argument, the first to which I will listen to your objection that its argument is completely subjective, at least in the superficial and salacious sense in which I intend it, and the second one to which I won't listen to any objection at all because I've got it turned up to eleven and am so rocking out at the moment with an air-drum-solo that the neighbours are approaching with pitchforks and firey torches and a glint in their eye that says "Burn him with the midnight oil!":
