Also, sd card speeds (or the using/not using one) can affect the speed.
To really test it in comparable fashion:
1. wipe both to factory defaults
2. Use identical SD cards, or no sd cards at all
3. upgrade immediately to latest firmware
4. put identical books to both devices, and nothing else
5. test with identical font and display settings (spacing, margins, everything)
