We obviously disagree. I believe telling your customers that they are holding it wrong and only reluctantly do something about the problem after massive peer pressure (without coming clean and saying "sorry folks, we made a mistake, but will get right on it") is not "handling it extremely well".

It has taken 18 months for apple to settle. They could have solved this much faster and without leaving a bitter taste of "our way, or the highway".
