OK, I took the Speakintohe advice. I opened the Kindle on PC program and went to Tools, Options and then Content. I changed the shown content location to the one which would show Calibre content, and now the Kindle for PC shows what in in the Calibre library instead of wht is in the MY Kindle library. So that solves half the probelm, and I believe I can now delete the Kindle library.
This may cause another problem, in that when I go to Amazon to download a book, it will (or may) not know where to put it on my computer. But at least I do not have to have two identical libraries on my computer, full of the same stuff.
