I think he might be referencing the Amazon Prime program which allows Kindle owners to borrow one book a month from Amazon.

Most people use the Prime program for the free 2 days shipping and really cheap over night shipping. The Prime Videos and Book downloads are nice bonuses but not the real reason people join Amazon Prime.
