Do you mean the movie "Manhunter"? I know that was intended as a film version of the novel "Red Dragon." I saw it ... didn't make me want to tear my ears off ... but also didn't impress me as being better than the book, which was pretty amazing.
I didn't see the remake ... not absolutely certain I want to. However, did you prefer the second version ... or just really hate both of them??
