Same thing happens to me, especially with character names. I'll be talking about a book I just finished, and I'll have to stop and try to remember what a character was named...and then I'll give up and give them some snide nickname, or something.
And, of course... When I'm doing something completely unrelated, the name will hit me in the head like a bag of rocks.
