automatically appreciated by all women. for example, i am a woman, and i don't read romance at all. and among my friends, there are no romance readers either, that i know of. so that would hardly be a selling point for me (us). i don't know what percentage of women readers appreciates romance (yet another survey to do...) but it is possible that it's not even the majority.
on the other hand, i do get the impression, from various posts, that romance readers tend to be pretty voracious and buy a LOT of books, so it would probably make a lot of business sense to make as many as possible available to promote new formats.
