Well, the DRM circumvention laws obviously don't apply to things with no DRM.

There are other laws that prohibit devices intended solely to infringe copyright, but that's a much higher bar to meet. There was a famous case against the video cassette recorder in the US (which the media companies lost, much to their later profit) and I remember a case in the UK against a cassette tape recorder/player with two decks.
