Most laptop drive installations take removing a couple of screws and taking out one and putting in another. Not really scary.
Almost all laptop manuals provide step by step instructions
In your case you should have to remove the suggested screws/cover and give drive a little push.

I bought the laptop from Best Buy (Dell) and had the Geek Squad install the new drive so hopefully it was done properly. However, I'll read the manual and figure out how to check it.
