Interestingly enough, the ebook business is at about the same stage of development.
Back then, ebooks were simple ASCII text files and vastly smaller than today's bulky formats with their relatively huge cover art. The floppies on the Tandy 1000 would hold 10, or so, of the ebook files of the day.
