From my personal experience, the Cybook's buttons do tend to be alittle stiff for the first few days of use, but do soften up quiet a bit after some use. Now keep in mind that I have the new Gen3, which according to others, has softer keys then the original.

I do agree that the gen3's ergonomics could use a bit of work, as it can require a bit of finger fiddling to use it one handed easily. The sony's are definitely better in this regard. However I do love the greater features of the gen3 so your mileage may vary as to what is more important.
