Here are my general thoughts.

My work computer is a Mac, I have a Macbook at home that I have had for 4 years now.
I also have a Lenovo that I run Linux and Windows on as well as a number of older PCs I rarely use anymore.

Macbooks, generally have not proven as durable as other Laptops I have used in the past. While a lot of their designs are really neat, they are IMHO often over-designed and under-engineered. Their keyboards are good, but other parts of them seem to fail more quickly than PCs (Though perhaps the emphasis on thin will change that for PCs.

I have also noticed that after 4 years, the Macbook is positively poky. Not as bad as a 4 year old version of Windows, but still not as good as I would expect from a 4 year old Unix installation (Which is what OSX is underneath).

By and large these days, I use Linux for 90% of my home computing.
