I think you should buy it. OSx is, IMHO, fundamentally better than WinX in just about every respect. So many of the problems (diseases really) that plague PC's are simply not issues with a mac. That's not to say OSx doesn't have some 'issues' of its own, but for the casual user that just wants something to 'work', mac is a great choice...if not a great 'price'.
