Monkeyluis: I was interested to learn you attach an SD card reader to your iPad and that it works quite well. That might sway me toward a retinal iPad at some point, but I'm still dreading the idea of not being able to work on a large file for some reason because there isn't enough space on the boot drive. Another question I'd have is how the iPad handles SD cards if you're actively editing a sound or video file stored on one and there isn't enough room for the file on the iPad alone.

monkeyluis: That's because you haven't done any reasersch nor understand the cloud. It may not be physically be built in but I can easily use SD cards with the iPad. I also have the option to use other external storage, which is exactly what an SD card slot would bring. So let me ask you, what is it that makes an SD card so important that without it renders the iPad useless, i.e a toy in your words. Look forward to the response.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I would never have bought a Nook for my grillfiend if it hadn't had a card slot. It isn't just a matter of storage that determines the need. It's also a matter of how the Nook's set up.

Come up with something better. The app store has everything that is needed and more. Unless your pirating apps, then there's no reason to side load. So come up with something else. See my post just above this for a response regarding SD slot or external storage. These comments are based on pure ignorance.

Hans is anything but ignorant. He isn't coming up with excuses for hating Apple, he's explaining his reasons for not wanting to use Apple products.
Consumers are people with individual needs by nature, not cheerleaders for Team [insert brand]. If Hans's needs aren't met by "the cloud," who is anyone else to tell him to modify his needs, let alone, that he's "ignorant"? I would never presume to tell you that you were an "Apple fanboy" or a "sheep," or use any of those annoying ad hominem arguments filed under
Apple Users: the Cult and made by people who refuse to listen to the owners of specific Apple products. Let's talk about features, usability and price points, not ideology. I'm still deciding whether I need a tablet of any kind made by any company.
