I think the iPad 2's screen is already extraordinarily nice (for a backlit screen). I believe that Apple can make one even nicer; that kind of thing is what they do. I think you'd have to be really hard core about your screen quality to be unhappy with the iPad 2, though. And spending 500$ on a new one is the sort of thing I would only do if I wasn't happy with the old one anymore.
