I won't bore you with the math, but let's just say that using the very generous advertised new-car MPG (highway) of my model car (not to mention low-balling the price of a gallon of gas)... I'm spending close to $12 on a round trip to the book store even if I purchase absolutely nothing. Mail-order and ebooks win. It's not even a contest.
In fairness; if there were a quality book-store (new and/or used) across the street from me... I'd be practically living in it.
