I tend to remember the covers so not really seeing those on the kindle probably would affect me once I've read a lot of books. I know that when I browse the free book charts on amazon I pay most attention to the covers and can usually spot the ones I've downloaded from those. The worst ones are the classics which all have the same basic cover.

For me having the physical book does make remembering the book easier, it's the same with films and music albums. I have some CDs that were bought cheap in a shop because there was no original case, so I just had the disc. I have terrible trouble remembering if I have that CD or not compared to the others by the same artist as I don't have the cover art to aid memory.
