It took Food Networks a year and a half to give back the membership fees of the premium members of Recipezaar when they stopped charging for premium membership. But then they also took the money for 6 months after they said they were discontinuing the program.
And only returned one month's worth. If you paid them in July So Sad, Too Bad. If you paid them in Jan the next year, you got your money back.
And they refused to charge back cards. They sent checks. Which they had a problem with because some members were in other countries. And since you could only use cards to join the site in the first place, it should have been no problem to charge back.
The old owners Troy and Gay would have had the money back in a week at the latest with problems. They would have killed themselves to find a way to make it right.
So if you have a major business doing it... well...
I figured it earned them all that free cash to use for a year.
No interest.
