So I ended up getting a case off of ebay:

I never planned to buy a case since it'd create extra weight, but shortly realized the need for one since it's so easy to get fingerprints on the back of the device. This is for Kindle Fire but it fits perfectly for the T1. It is firm and i like the elastic bands where I can attach my stylus.
It does not cover the device on the edges, so if you are going for that then obviously don't get this one.
Be warned that the one they ship to you isn't exactly the same. See my attachments. The bottom 2 straps are different from the top 2 straps, even though theyre all the same (elastic bands) in the ebay picture.
I like it though, and I'm happy with the price I got it for. There was definitely no way I was going to waste >20 dollars on a case.
Oh, and to all the people that think getting sleeves is a bad idea - I dont understand why you are judging so harshly. An ereader is the same as a phone, is the same as a laptop. Does everyone get laptop sleeves and phone cases? No. And not everyone has slippery fingers like you, who drop their ereader often. Even if you drop it, I'm pretty sure the device is manufactured to withstand arms length drops. And getting a sleeve is at least better than nothing at all.
