That is the thing with tech products, if they brought one to market that fulfilled all your wishes you wouldn't upgrade for four or five more years. So it is baby steps, always dangling the carrot of future improvements in front of you.
Unless you are talking about a company that has been unsuccessful for quite some time, they need to make a splash and go all out.
