I went the same route for my daughter's iPad she received as a Christmas present. Other than the word "refurbished" printed very small over the box's UPC code on back, you would have no idea it wasn't brand-spankin' new.

Other friends and co-workers who have purchased refurb from the Apple store have all had the same experience.

If you are in doubt, have no qualms about getting refurbished products from Apple.
