It looks like the firms that provide the data specify in the title if the numbers are only for the US, so this should be worldwide.

Says that there were ~120 million in total of desktops, laptops, netbooks and tablets sold in 2011 Q4, and Apple sold 15 million iPad in that quarter, so that puts them at 12.5% just on iPads, not the whole of iOS.

I don't know where they got the 120 million number from, but
Apple's press release for Q4 2011 states that they sold 11.12 million iPads that quarter, so the report that you linked to is clearly false.

I haven't said or even implied that people stopped buying iPads, and the market isn't taken over by cheap products. The Fire and the NOOK are cheaper than the iPads mainly because they are half the size.
