I did it because I like fiddling with my tech toys. It hasn't made a big difference to me except that I can get the Android Market and make wallpaper stick. I used Kindle Water so I could do it on my Mac. It does it all for you if you can get it to work. It took me a lot of tries to get it to work. I wouldn't recommend that process.

I'm not as blown away as I expected by rooting.
