This is the 15th Elvis Cole/Joe Pike novel, and, as you say, most (including this one) formally has Elvis as the main character. Three have Joe Pike as the main character.

This is one of my favorite series. I enjoyed Taken, but the very best of the series is L.A. Requiem.
