And why is it so hard for you to accept that people buy Apple products because they are actually better, and not because they are better marketed?

Again, complete lack of knowledge on your part. The difficulty roughly comparable tablets have competing with the iPad is that they *can't match Apple's price.* They are too expensive. The iPad is cheaper.

I don't know any different way to say that.

Yeah, everyone is going to have to decide for himself about upgrading, and a lot of that will depend on how you use your tablet. But since tablets are basically all screen, that's a pretty important part.

But there are a lot of people who don't have a tablet at all. And if they are interested in a tablet, the iPad is something of a no-brainer.

As far as display + battery tech, none yet. But the Ipad was released less than a week ago, just a matter of time. In most other categories (RAM, CPU, micro SD port, USB port, HDMI output) the Transformer Prime wins out or is equal. If you add the detachable keyboard of the prime, it even wins on battery life.

The Ipad 32 GB model, wifi only, sells in the UK for 479 pounds. The comparable Transformer Prime costs 499, and comes with the detachable keyboard + all the ports and battery life mentioned above. I assume you can buy proprietary connectors to add the ports to the Ipad, but that would add to the price, no?

Absolutely. And the display makes me drool.

The Ipad is a sexy beast, looks great, wonderful performance, and a (relatively speaking) secure OS. Also, if you dl an app its pretty much guaranteed to work. The Android Market loses out to the Apple eco-system as well, its poorly organized and has less tablet-designed apps. But is it a no-brainer to choose the Ipad over all others?
Practically all the best and most popular apps are available in both eco-systems. And with the release of ICS, things can only get better for Android. Seaking started this topic by suggesting that Apple will lose its dominance in the tablet market not this year or the next, but in the foreseeable future. Will it? Who honestly knows for sure? But we can look at the smartphone trend and see that it has happened in the past and there are at least some indicators that it could very much happen again re: tablets. No-brainer it maybe is for now, but for how much longer?

Plus, Windows 8 is coming this year. That could be a real game-changer.
