I finished Steven Lyle Jordan's _Evoguia_. I would rate it a 2.5 of 5 stars.

I found the concept of the story interesting. However, I thought there were a few problems.

First, the character development just wasn't there. When some characters died I just didn't care. Granted, they were minor characters.

Next, The conflict in the book was anemic. Everything was resolved so simply.

Finally, The dialog was pretty weak. That's just not how people talk or how politicians interact.

It seemed that the writing was not consistent and I think in the Authors notes at the end this was explained. Apparently this was one of his early works that he polished up and re-released. I guess it shows. The book just wasn't up to the standards I found in Verdant Skys or Berserker.

Next I started reading _The Drowning_ by Richard Herley. I think this is his newest. I always enjoy his books and glad the MobileRead Book Club introduced me to him via _Refuge_... a book I highly recommend.
