The ones on my readers still have annotations. If I were to (egad, this will be time-consuming) go to the desktop and re-annotate the new desktop copies to match what I have on my readers, I'm thinking that logically it should follow that I could then delete the free books from my reader, and then re-synch so that the annotations will stay on the ereader.
Well. After HOURS of doing this (two of the books were textbook-ish in my field), the result was that everything was still wiped off of my desktop AND my reader after synching.

Which makes no sense to me.

I'm through with Kobo freebie epubs.

From now on I'll be going to Gutenberg, or any of the other wonderful sites out there for my classics, and sideloading.
