You might be interested in this:

The MacBook Air has most in common with the Asus Zenbook, and for a 25% higher price you get a product that weighs slightly more while being slightly smaller, lacks some useful ports and has a slightly worse battery. Being worse while costing more is what the people that you call haters see as the Apple trademark.
